English 1102: Fear Appeals and the Appeal of Fear
Sample student work: ‘Field Report’
As their second artifact in this course, students must produce a researched report in a creative format. Some choose to write as ghost hunters or alien investigators. All must make an argument about the real social questions underlying their research topic. The student below chose to create a podcast “interviewing” a few mythical swan women. In the interest of the student’s privacy, I have disabled the link to their audio recording. However, the transcript gives some impression of the detailed argument they crafted about swan women tales as outlets for women to resist oppression.
